CLASS 1 – EXPLORER PROJECT
First Year 4-H Members Only
Judging Friday, 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Exploring exhibitors will be awarded green participation ribbons and $1.50 in premiums for each exhibit. Exhibitors are to bring their project to the Fair anytime between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
They must participate in conference judging (the judge will discuss individual entries with the exhibitor and provide feedback to the exhibitor as to the project and exhibit) in order to receive premiums.
Projects are to remain at the Fair until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Exhibitor is limited to one entry per entry number with a maximum of three entries.
CLASS 1 – CLOVERBUD PROJECT
Kindergarten
Exhibitors are limited to one entry per lot number with a maximum of three entries.
Lot No.
- Picture of color.
- Any simple arts and craft project.
- Recycled item.
- Poster displaying Club Officers (14” x 22”).
- Drawing of you favorite pet (8 1/2” x 11”).
- Holiday item.
- Simple healthy snack.
- Legos & K’nex. Must be on sturdy cardboard or proper sixe box for ease of handling.
- Photography, any number of pictures, mounted on 11” x 14” tag board.
- Homemade aerospace project.
- Fruit, Vegetable, houseplant or cut flower member has grown.
- Poster displaying your favorite 4 – H Club activity (14” x 22”).
- Any item made at Grant County 4 –H Cloverbud Day or Family Project Day.
CLASS 2 – COVERBUD PROJECT – First Grade
Exhibitors are limited to one entry per lot number with a maximum of four entries.
- Picture to color (from Cloverbud literature).
- My neighborhood map (8 1/2” x 11”).
- Poster displaying the care of an animal (14” x 22”).
- Favorite cookie or bar that member males – 3.
- Any arts and craft project.
- Fruit, vegetable, houseplant or cut flower member has grown.
- Photography, any number of pictures, mounted on 11” x 14” tag board.
- Treasures from throwaways.
- Discoveries from a nature walk.
- Simple woodworking project.
- Simple article sewn by you by hand or machine.
- Display of 4 mounted insects.
- Legos & K’nex. Must be on sturdy cardboard or proper size box for ease of handling.
- Send picture page.
- Homemade aerospace project.
- Poster displaying your favorite 4 –H club activity (14” x 22”).
- Any item made at Grant County 4-H Cloverbud Day or Family Project Day.
CLASS 3 – CLOVERBUD PROJECT – Second Grade
Exhibitors are limited to one entry per lot number with a maximum of five entries.

- Simple art can be pencil/crayon or water color (8 ½ x 11).
- Simple craft item.
- Treasures from throwaways.
- A garden box (4 different vegetables or fruits you have grown).
- House plant (that you have cared for).
- Cut flowers (3 stems or blooms).
- Display of 8 mounted insects.
- Booklet 8 ½ x 11 of leaves or wild flowers mounted and identified.
- Poster on the care of an animal (14 x 22).
- Poster on Home or Farm Safety (14 x 22).
- Simple woodworking.
- Simple article sewn by member.
- Photography, one or more pictures mounted on 11 x 14 tag board.
- Simple snack or cookies.
- Scale model diorama on a 2’ x 3’ board.
- Legos & K’Nex. Must be on sturdy cardboard or proper size box for ease of handling.
- Seed picture page.
- Homemade fishing equipment (hook must be covered).
- Graphic illustration using paint, paintbrush, or similar article.
- Recite your favorite poem/short story. (Item must be available for viewing).
- Poster displaying your favorite 4-H club activity (14” x 22”).
- Aerospace project.
- Any item made at Grant County 4-H Cloverbud Day or Family Project Day.
Class 4 – EXPLORING PROJECTS
Open to exhibitors enrolled in the 4-H exploring project. Exhibitors are limited to one entry per entry number and six entries over all.

- ANIMAL PROECT – Poster (14”x22”) promoting a particular livestock product such as dairy, meats, eggs, etc.
- ANIMAL PROJECT – Poster (14” x 22”) showing breeds of any species of livestock.

- PLANT AND SOIL SCIENCE – A tray or box (12” x12” or smaller) of vegetables, fruits and/or field crops which the member has helped to grow.
NOT OPEN TO EXHIBITORS IN DEPARTMENT 15.
- FLOWERS AND HOUSE PLANTS – An arrangement of cut flowers or a house plant that has been under the member’s care. Cut flowers due at time of judging.
- Terrarium (all types & kinds)
NOT OPEN TO EXHIBITORS IN DEPARTMENT 16.
- NATURAL SCIENCES – Booklet (8-1/2” x 11”), or poster (11” x 14”), or case or box (10”x 12”) of any wildlife photos, collections, drawings or descriptions of natural science project exploration of the exhibitor.
Exhibitors in entries 6-12 must not be exhibiting a similar project in Department 18.

- ART AND CRAFTS – Poster (14” x 22”) on any aspect of 4-h.

- WOODWORKING – Any woodworking project made by the exhibitors.
- WOODWORKING – Booklet (8-1/2” x 11”), or Poster (14” x 22”), showing or describing safe use of woodworking tools.

- ELECTRICITY – Any battery operated electrical device assembled by the exhibitors.

- HEALTH, SOCIAL AND POLITICAL SCIENCES – Photo display, collage, poster or similar project that depicts things families do together, ways families stay healthy, what the exhibitor values or what the exhibitor wants out of life.
